Project Summary

Toyota of Torrance is a full service automotive dealership that reaches beyond a dedication to promote innovative vehicles.  The Toyota of Torrance facility incorporates sustainable design elements and building practices that not only promote the health of the building occupants, but also that of the larger community and environment.  The facility is a single story, 22,328 square foot building comprised of showroom area, administrative offices, and team training rooms.  With a corporate commitment to encourage and create awareness surrounding sustainability measures, the Toyota of Torrance facility reaches well beyond expectations.  The paints, sealers and materials used inside Torrance Toyota are all free of VOC’s (cancer-causing volatile organic compounds), which means the air is clean and pure. All cabinetry, flooring and coverings are formaldehyde free, so there is less risk of breathing in these nasty carcinogens. The facility utilized dual-pane windows while allowing plenty of natural light and connection to outdoor environment.  As the first constructed automotive dealership in Los Angeles County to use LED lighting, Toyota of Torrance is realizing a reduced lighting energy consumption of approximately 60%.  Exterior patios and overhangs allow for outdoor activities while maintaining comfort of customers and personnel.
