Project Summary

As a 74-acre campus located over the beach, Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) pursued the development of a District-wide Sustainability Plan, which applies to the main Santa Barbara City College campus and satellite campuses. The development process actively solicited involvement from the Campus community, including staff, students, and faculty.  Through the facilitation of Campus workshops and discussion forums, a clear vision for a tangible guide for improved resource efficiency evolved.  The Plan encompasses short- and long-term goals for improved efficiency in areas of food, transportation, energy, water, grounds, and academics, and has identified performance goals and benchmarks for ensuring continued success and improvement.
