Project Summary

The Energy Resource Center (ERC) in Downey, California is a facility owned and operated by Southern California Gas/Sempra Energy.  The ERC is a place in which customers can find the most efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally-sensitive solutions for their energy needs.  The 44,572 square foot facility earned an initial LEED-EB:O&M certification at the Certified level in 2009, then recertified in 2013 to achieve LEED-EB:O&M Gold Certification.  As a showcase building for environmental and energy efficiency, the Energy Resource Center upgraded HVAC and lighting systems, installed new controls, improved upon previously implemented sustainable operations policies, improved transportation practices, and achieved higher marks in energy efficiency, materials performance data, landscape irrigation, and custodial cleaning.
