Project Summary

Children’s Museum of Santa Barbara is a new facility specifically focused on encouraging children to grow, learn, play, and create. As a 17,000 square foot building, the project will include 9,000 square feet of interactive exhibits, classroom lab, museum store, rooftop garden, and interactive theatre. The project is pursuing LEED for New Construction certification and will implement key strategies that are engaging, stimulating, and educate children on activities and practices for creating a more sustainable environment.  In addition to the pursuit of LEED certification, the Museum is working to develop a sustainability operational plan.  The plan focuses on operational policies, which will allow the building to be operated and maintained in a resource efficient manner, with a result of operational dollar savings.
