LEEDing the Way Toward Sustainable Design, One Local Partnership At a Time
Earlier this month, we provided a “LEED for Contractors” training for a local contractor. We discussed our hands-on approach to LEED project management and how our partners might be able to leverage our LEED toolkit. We spent time sharing an overview of our services and experience and walked the contractor through the specific credits they’d need to become LEED AP eligible.
“At the end of the training, a few of the contractors were motivated to become LEED AP’s. The owner also wanted to work with us on developing a company-wide internal Green building benchmarking system that all clients could use to verify building performance,” noted Perrin Pellegrin, iWorkshop Managing Partner.
In the near future, we hope to make this presentation to many local contractors so we can assist them with benchmarking the high performance projects being built throughout Santa Barbara county.
“Its important to do this in our local communities so that all contractors feel comfortable working on LEED projects and understand the importance of why LEED is a helpful tool in providing a healthy well performing building.”
